Art Illustration Design

Alexandra has been selling her paintings since 2004 and continues to undertake commissions and exhibit her pieces both nationally and internationally. Alexandra's love of art and the countryside became intertwined at a time when farming was facing a crisis. Touched by the publicity and vulnerability of cows during the BSE and Foot and Mouth crises, Alexandra started observing these bovine beauties for drawings and paintings at Petersham Meadows in Richmond Upon Thames. From this initial encounter, Alexandra's interest in sound animal husbandry and the countryside has continued and she now seeks much inspiration from the surrounding Cotswolds. Alexandra always records her observations on site, meeting the animals and studying their individual characters amongst the herd. Alexandra aims to capture the essence of their spirit and promote the individual within the herd with a view to greater consideration and understanding of our colourful world. Impressed by the farmers’ abilities to remember all of the individual’s names within their herds, Alexandra ensures that all of her work is suitably named. Alexandra is currently developing a collection of landscape paintings. Alexandra is inspired by the many facets to the Cotswold landscape, from the undulating contours of the land itself to the array of flora and fauna upon it. The evolving landscape, and seasons bring ever changing colours, silhouettes of foliage and a variety of livestock and wild animals. From elderflowers to blackberries, spring lambs to robins, an endless source of inspiration.

Alexandra also enjoys visual puzzle solving, creating illustrations and pattern designs with a bold graphic style and a passion for colour.

Creative Team Building And Well Being Workshops

"I have just completed an art course and a workshop with Alex.  I absolutely loved every moment, and am so pleased with my creations (I'm a beginner).  It has inspired me to really develop my artistic skills, and I now look at my environment differently - every where I turn I see something I could draw or paint!   Alex is very encouraging, inspirational and has lots of creative ideas.  I am hoping to continue with her classes and workshops.  I wish I had had Alex as my art teacher at school - I would have definitely have chosen art instead of science!"  Sarah, Fairford.

As someone who lacks confidence in this area, I was apprehensive about the day ahead, but from the moment I entered the studio I was made to feel at ease. Alexandra the tutor skilfully gave us the encouragement and confidence we needed to try a range of techniques…...... Her support was friendly, constructive and certainly made me take risks I might not otherwise have taken.”  Jo, Broadway.
